5 Sweet Sunsets to watch with your Sweetheart on Valentine’s Day 2021

Opt for simple, low-cost and social-distanced sunsets this Valentine's Day, Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021. Pack a picnic and some tunes, and take your sweetheart to one of these five romantic sunset locations on Oahu.

China Walls

Just a short drive from town east to Hawaii Kai, China Walls offers up Instagram-worthy sunsets and a laid-back atmosphere. Tucked away in the Portlock neighborhood, is Koko Kai Beach Mini Park. Follow the square steps to the lava-rock cliffs, and enjoy one of the best sunset views on Oahu. A word of caution: Don't get too close to the edge if the waves are breaking.

Magic Island

Across from Ala Moana Center, the sunset from Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park is pure magic. You'll definitely want to snap some selfies in the "golden hour" before sunset.

Waikiki Beach

Whether you're strolling along the beach or relaxing on the sand, Waikiki Beach serves up gorgeous sunsets. Look for the "green flash" as the sun sets on the horizon.

Tantalus Lookout

Pack a picnic dinner and head to the top of Pu'u 'Ualaka'a State Park for stunning panoramic views from Diamond Head to Pearl Harbor. Be sure to arrive a bit early, as the parking lot can fill up at sunset. And don't forget a blanket--due to its elevation, it can get chilly in the evenings.

After a day of surfing, hiking or shopping on Oahu's North Shore, head over to Sunset Beach to...what else...take in an amazing sunset! Spanning from Ehukai Beach (Banzai Pipeline) to Sunset Point, Sunset Beach boasts a sandy, two-mile stretch. Arrive early, as this popular spot can get busy.
