Return of the Peacock

Hey y'all!  How I've missed writing here at Glass Peacock so much!  I have to say, though, that I enjoyed every single second of my 10 weeks and 3 days of summer vacation and I hope you did the same! Here's a little glimpse of what I've been up to...

I spent a couple of days in Cherokee, NC with my mom, grandmother, and  aunties.  Quick, but super-fun trip!

At Harrah's Casino my mama and I got the same fortunes and thought for sure we were gonna hit the jackpot.
We did not

Well,  maybe mom did.  She and my aunt took in the K.D. Lang show while we were there and ended up right in front!  

Thank you, Paula Deen, for being the downfall of my diet. Biscuits and gravy is my all-time favorite breakfast and I would normally give my dad all kinds o' props for making the best evah...BUT...Paula is giving him some serious competition.  Sorry Dad.  I think she puts crack in it.

Spent some time on the beautiful, gorgeous, stunning Anna Maria Island.
I could easily get used to this every night.

Oh, and we found our future home.  Really.

So...before this post turns into a vacation slide show ah-la the 1980s I'll spare you.  The kiddos are back in school and I've got a line of projects forming out my back door:  just scored some new-to-me dining chairs (thanks, Mama!) that are begging for a make-over, bought a large mirror for $5 at a yard sale that I'm going to give new life with paint and possibly cork, I've got 84,000 coffee filters that I need to do something with, I'm making a drum shade to cover ugly brass light in our dining room, my son's old changing table is getting converted into a bar cart, I've got a ton of new jewelry to make, and lots more.  I can't wait!  Make sure you subscribe to my rss feed so you don't miss my adventures...misadventures?  TTFN!  xoxo -s
