Weekend Plans

OK, it didn't snow THIS much...but wasn't it pretty last year?

Friday afternoon is my favorite time of the week.  Such expectation for the weekend, no?  Today is a semi-snow day for us here.  I say "semi" because, while it did snow some...and it's frigidly cold...I think the roads in town are fine.  But we're stuck.  On our hill.  And we can't get down.

At any rate...Hooray for the impromptu 4-day weekend!  What are your plans?  I'll be catching up on laundry today (I know...you can hardly stand how exciting my life is, right?), house-hunting on Saturday...and on Sunday I'm taking my daughter to her very first summer ballet intensive audition on. I'm excited for her...and nervous! She's dutifully got her ballet bag already packed with a fresh, new leotard and tights, ballet shoes, point shoes, toe pads, duct tape, dental floss and sewing kit, warm ups, and her iPod is fully loaded.  I'm so proud of her. It takes courage to put yourself out there for others to critique.  She's taking a huge step forward and breaking out of her comfort zone...going to the audition without the aid of a buddy by her side.  But she is my baby...and I still feel the need to hold her hand.  Que the tears, guys!

While you're surfing over the weekend, check out this article from Plus Model Magazine.  It's been making the rounds on Facebook, have you seen it?  The article discusses the vast difference between so-called plus-sized models, runway models...and the rest of us.  It's a real eye-opener. There are a few graphic images scattered throughout the piece that are artistic & most definitely meant to evoke a response...don't say I didn't warn you!
